There are many versions of the Bible. Two things are facts about it. It is the most widely read book of all time. There is only one word to describe it - the 'Bible'.
According to Wikipedia, the Quran (the English pronunciation)also transliterated Qur'an, Koran, Alcoran, Qur’ān, Coran, Kuran and al-Qur’ān. How many different names do we really need to describe it? I am sure the Bible has been burned many times. How many times have radicals burned the American flag? However, one instance of a Quran burning sets the Muslims into a terror frenzy!
I still subscribe to BC/AD in describing historical dates. The BC/AD method can be traced back to Catholic historians working in the early Middle Ages. Converting historical dates to the standard Gregorian calendar could not have been easy. Using the birth of Jesus Christ as a central point made more sense to the religious historians. BC means 'Before Christ'. AD or Anno Domini means 'in the year of the Lord'. I don't see any mention of the acronym 'AM' - 'in the year of Muhammed'. Jesus, to me, will always be the son of God. Muslims can bend to Mecca and honor Muhammed, who was simply a man and not a prophet and died in 632 AD. My Lord lives!
There is a relatively new BCE/CE (Before Common Era/Common Era) reference for historical dates which has had its share of supporters and critics. Critics view the new system as an attempt to remove the religious significance inherent in the BC/AD system. Supporters of the BCE/CE method of identifying historical dates say the removal of Christian references works as a bridge between different religions and cultures. The BC/AD system appears to endorse Jesus Christ as the superior world religious figure, which could be viewed as disrespectful of other religions and belief structures. In other words, we now have the politically correct version for historical events.

Muslims believe the Quran to be verbally revealed through angel Jibrīl (Gabriel) from God to Muhammad gradually over a period of approximately 23 years beginning in 610 CE, when Muhammad was 40, and concluding in 632 CE, the year of his death. In the New Testament of the Bible, we have the spoken word of Jesus, the Son of God. Christians don't need an intermediary to know the Lord's word.
